The bond between Italy and premium Cuban tobacco is strengthened today with an announcement that evokes history and collectibles. The brand The Escepción, a pre-revolutionary brand founded around 1850 by Don José Gener y Batet and discontinued in 1989, returns to the forefront with the long-awaited Italy Regional Edition 2025: the Selectos Reales.
This release is not just a new cigar, but the culmination of a philological and sentimental journey that has brought a legend back to life.
Diadema SpA: pioneers of the 50-inch Cabinet
Italy, through the work of Diadema SpA., confirms itself once again as a forerunner and global point of reference for Regional Editions. The choice to present the Selectos Reales in a sumptuous 50-cigar cabinet It is rooted in a tradition of excellence that saw Italy lead the way for this prestigious format.
It is enough to remember milestones of collecting such as the Punch Superfinos (2005 and 2007), the’El Rey del Mundo Torpedos (2008) and the most recent Punch Mantua (2018). Editions that are today considered true "holy grails" by smokers around the world. Selectos Reales follows this noble path, presented in a classic cabinet tied with the traditional yellow belt.
The Trilogy is complete: a collectible triptych
With the launch of Selectos Reales, another chapter in what enthusiasts call “the La Escepción trilogy” takes shape: a journey that enriches, evolves, and continues to leave its mark, opening up new perspectives and new emotions to discover.
A project started in 2011 that saw the brand produce exclusively for the Italian market, making these editions unique on a global level:
- Selectos Finos (2011): The debut that put the brand back in the spotlight.
- Don José (2015): Confirmation of a refined and philologically accurate style.
- Selectos Reales (2025): A new step in the telling of an extraordinary story.
To date, owning the first two releases is a privilege reserved for a lucky few, as they are considered virtually unobtainable on the market.
Technical features: excellence in bell format
The Selectos Reales is a prison cell Bell, with a large caliber (52 x 140 mm length). This release also celebrates a key milestone: the 25th anniversary of Diadema SpA., exclusive importer for Italy.
For the occasion, the cigar is embellished with:
- A'’commemorative ring dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Diadema.
- A'’additional ring on the foot of the cigar bearing the Vitola de Salida.
- A limited production of only 4,000 numbered boxes.
The Selectos Reales blends the historic legacy of the "Selectos" with the exclusivity of the 50-cabinet Habano. Thanks to meticulous philological research into tobacco and the brand's original style, we are faced with what are probably the most exclusive cigars in the world today.
A piece of history to be carefully preserved in the humidor, waiting for the perfect moment to ignite the legend.
